Indian’s conquer a historic victory at lord’s

In the second test as the Indians were put in to bat again by the English side, India got a strong start with the courtesy of our openers Rohit Sharma scoring 83 & Kl Rahul getting a terrific Ton, scoring 129 taking India upto 364 in the first innings, Anderson again was the pick of the bowlers with yet another 5fer.


The English Side came back stronger as their skipper went big with his blistering knock of 180 well supported by Bairstow scoring 57 & Burns falling one short of half century for 49 as England took the lead of 27 runs putting the Indian side on a backfoot on Day 3, Siraj was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets for the Indian Side.


In the second innings, Indians had a poor start loosing KL Rahul early but Pujara and Rahane came good notching up a crucial partnership for India as they scored 45 & 61 respectively giving the much needed resistance against the Mighty English bowling attack, but again at the 3rd session as Indians lost them early, it was upto the Tail to provide India a much needed performance, this time with the bat.

And India did exactly the same, With Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah pulling off a historical partnership, not only surviving the first session but Shami counter attacking the English bowlers scoring his best innings and only the second half century of his career well supported by Bumrah with his career best 34 not out.

With just 60 overs in hand, the Indian side set a target of 271 runs to chase for the English Side to have a crack.
Indians pounced on this opportunity as Bumrah provided India a major boost picking Burns in the very First over and provided timely breakthroughs and went all out as Siraj was spot on with his spells picking another 4fer playing for the first time at lord’s and setting up the Indian side for a historical victory on a day after the Independence Day, Virat Kohli was perfect with his bowling changes as India pulled off one of the most famous wins of the decade being the only 3rd Captain to achieve the same after Kapil Dev & MS Dhoni.

Kl Rahul was named as a Man of the Match for his blistering First innings ton but it was not just one individual but the whole team coming together and pulling off such a historical victory as India went 1 up with 3 test matches to go against the English side on their home soil.
