Tokyo Olympics: Indian Women’s Hockey Team Goes Down Fighting In Bronze Match against Great Britain

The Brave heart Indian women’s hockey team put in a thrilling performance in the bronze medal match against Great Britain but fell short after losing the match 3-4.

It was maiden historical dream which Indian Women’s Hockey team saw but it remained unfulfilled as they go down fighting against Great Britain 3-4 who are Gold medalist in 2016 Rio Olympics.

The Rani Rampal-led side defeated the mighty Australians in the quarterfinals but couldn’t get past Argentina in the semifinals and Great Britain in the play-off game, signing off with a fourth place finish.

The heartbreak came a day after the Indian men’s team ended their 41-year-old medal drought by clinching bronze with a 5-4 win over Germany.

It was yet a best finish(4th) by Indian Women’s Hockey team.

After a disappointing start to the campaign that saw them lose the first three games, the Indian women’s team put up a splendid display to enter its maiden Olympic semifinal.
